Google’s on and off negotiations with Digg have been back on in a big way for the last six weeks, we’ve heard from multiple sources inside of Google, and the two companies are close to a deal that will bring Digg under the Google News property. Facebook開放Cassandra Storage System原始碼

Cassandra是Facebook由Jeff Hammerbacher領導的Data Group所開發，根據他在SIGMOD 2008上發表的演講：Cassandra: Structured Storage System over a P2P Network，Cassandra設計的目的是：
- High availability
- Eventual consistency
- Incremental scalability
- Optimistic replication
- “Knobs” to tune tradeoffs between consistency, durability, and latecy
- Low cost of ownership
- Minimal administration
