今天意外發現一個Eclipse的plugin，叫做OSDE，是用來作為OpenSocial的開發環境(其中一位開發者目前也是Google的員工)。馬上玩了一下，功能還很陽春，不過的確可以節省一些時間，而且藉由這個開發環境也可以比較清楚了解OpenSocial的設計架構。以下節錄官網上的介紹：
OSDE is the Eclipse Plug-in for developing OpenSocial application. When you want to develop and test a social application, you must use some SNS(ex. orkut.com, myspace.com, hi5.com and etc.). The method of using some SNS may give you a strong limitation. For example, you must make friends for testing your social application, must find some SNS supported many functions, and the server of the SNS must be running stablity.
OSDE is able to provide the individual SNS for you. In this small SNS, you can make some person’s profiles, social graph, groups, and most test data. These test data will be used in your OpenSocial application. In addition, OSDE provides some views for listing people, appdata, activities, and etc. in your eclipse. By using these views, you will be able to control most test data and testing your application.
開發SNS應用的時候都會需要一個SNS環境來做測試，比如說直接用自己的帳號去結交一些朋友，然後再來測試。不過在OSDE上開發，會在本地端跑起一個shindig server來模擬環境，提供資料。
